How Zahava Sports handles your data.

What this is

Zahava Sports ("we", "us") is a mobile app that surfaces AI-verified sports news from public posts by a curated list of sports journalists. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how to control it.

Information we collect

• Account: you can browse as a guest, or sign in with Apple (on iOS) or Google (on Android). Firebase Authentication then creates an account identified by a unique ID, and we store the display name and email the provider shares (which may be a private relay address), plus the sign-in method.
• Preferences: the leagues you follow, the teams you mark as favorites, and whether push notifications are on.
• Push token: a Firebase Cloud Messaging device token, used to deliver notifications. Tied to your device, rotates on reinstall.
• App Check: to block abuse, the app sends a device-integrity token (Apple App Attest on iOS, Play Integrity on Android) confirming the request comes from the genuine app. It contains no personal information.

What we do NOT collect

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, or location.

No analytics or advertising

We do not use third-party analytics, attribution, or advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. We don't run ads.

How we use your data

• Personalize the news feed and notifications to your favorite teams.
• Authenticate your account and protect it from misuse.
• Deliver push notifications when you opt in.
• Keep the service secure and verify requests come from the genuine app.

Third-party services

• Firebase (Google) — Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Messaging, Cloud Functions, and App Check. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
• Google Gemini — used server-side to classify public posts from sports journalists. Only post text is sent for classification; no user account data is shared.
• X (formerly Twitter) — we fetch public posts from a curated list of sports journalists via the X API. We do not share user data with X.
• TheSportsDB — licensed live scores, schedules, and team logos/artwork from TheSportsDB. Team logos remain the property of their respective owners.

Data retention

Your account data persists while your account is active. News articles we ingest are retained for up to 14 days, then permanently deleted. When you delete your account, your user profile is removed immediately.

Your rights

• Access: see all your data inside the app — favorite teams, notification preferences, account email.
• Delete: Settings → Delete account permanently erases your profile, preferences, and notification token. This is irreversible.
• Push opt-out: Settings → Notifications, or iOS Settings → Zahava Sports → Notifications.
• Apple users: managing your Apple ID's "Sign in with Apple" trust at appleid.apple.com revokes your access here.
• Wherever you live: you can request access to or deletion of your data at any time by emailing us — we honor these requests regardless of region.

Children

Zahava Sports is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a minor has signed up, contact us and we'll delete the account.

Where your data is stored

Your data is processed and stored by Google Firebase on servers that may be located outside your country, including the United States. By using the app you consent to this transfer and processing.

Security

We protect your data with measures like encrypted (HTTPS) connections, Firebase security rules, and App Check device attestation. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your regional rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict use of your data, to object to processing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We process data to provide the app, with your consent (e.g. notifications), and for our legitimate interest in keeping it secure. Email us to make a request — we honor them regardless of region. We do not sell your personal information.

Third-party links

The app shows and links to third-party content (e.g. posts on X). Those services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notice the next time you open the app.
